W.A Production’s Mutant Delay is a vocal processor with dynamic ducking

W.A Production is aiming to simplify ducked delays with Mutant Delay, a vocal processor plug-in that features in-built dynamic ducking.
The advantage of combining ducking with delay is that you can dial in extreme delay effects while retaining the clarity of the original signal. This allows you to have pronounced delays packed with feedback that never overpower your vocal.
To achieve this normally requires you set up a delay and a compressor with a sidechain input. Mutant Delay packs this into a single easy-to-use plug-in.
The plug-in’s GUI is split into two main sections: Synced Delay and Internal Ducker. Synced Delay features controls for mix, feedback, high- and low-pass filters as well as L-R controls for the host-synced delay. The delay types on offer include a straight delay as well as a ping-pong type with multiple note divisions. Internal Ducker, as its name suggests, lets you tweak the ducker’s settings with these compressor-style controls: threshold, ratio, hold, attack and release.
