Universal Audio will be helping producers get their hands on plug-ins from leading brands on a subscription basis through UAD Spark.

The new monthly service features an “evolving” collection of UAD plug-ins and instruments from the likes of Neve, Moog, API, Lexicon, Teletronix, UA, and more.

See the list of included plug-ins kicking off the service below:

  • Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ Channel Strip
  • API Vision Channel Strip
  • UA 1176 Classic Limiter Collection
  • Teletronix LA-2A Leveler Collection
  • API Vision Channel Strip
  • Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb
  • Studer A800 Tape Recorder
  • API 2500 Bus Compressor
  • Galaxy Tape Echo
  • Pure Plate Reverb

Along with these, the service introduces new software instruments, including the Moog Minimoog D, Ravel Grand Piano, Waterfall B3 Organ and the brand new Opal Morphing Synthesizer, which is exclusive to Spark.

UA describes Opal Morphing Synthesizer as an instrument that “blurs the lines between analogue and wavetable synthesis”, allowing you to scan through waveforms in real-time and choose from a wide array of wavetables. You can also search through Opal’s many presets using a clever smart browser that will present you with patches that correspond to any keyword you type in. For example, type “dark” into the preset browser and Opal will show you which patches fit that description.

Meanwhile, the Waterfall B3 Organ is touted as “the world’s most thorough emulation of the classic Hammond B3 organ and its companion Leslie 147 rotary speaker cabinet” with accurate physical and circuit modelling for realistic playing dynamics and sound. Not only does it boast an authentic B3 sound, but it even reproduces the mechanical shifts and whirs as you move parameters – just as a real-life B3 would. It also includes mono and stereo vintage mic setups and more than 70 “album-ready” presets.
