TheWaveWardens latest beta (2.0.15) for their Odin 2 software synth has been released. Like previous versions, music makers can download the version on the company’s website for free.

Odin 2 draws inspiration from Reason’s Thor synthesizer, offering deep synthesis and modulation capabilities. This plug-in is seriously packed with features, but here are the core ones:

Odin 2 packs three oscillators that can operate in the following modes: analog, wavetable, multi, vector synthesis, chiptune, FM, phase mod, and noise. But adding on to that, it also lets you design your own waveforms with a set of three tools: wave, chiptune and spectrum drawing.

The modulation section also features deep customisability, and divides envelopes between oscillators and filters. With the 18 slot matrix, there are numerous routing options when patching the three individual LFOs, and one global LFO.

Wrapping it up, Odin 2 offers emulations of classic analog filters like an Oberheim, Moog-ladder and the Korg-35, time-based effects, and an onboard distortion to boot.

Adding on to existing VST3 formats, this latest beta also sees Odin 2 receive AU (beta) support.
