Synthstrom Deluge

Synthstrom Audible is set to release a firmware 3.0 update for its powerful Deluge synthesizer, sampler and sequencer.

New features on Deluge include live looping/sampling and the ability to turn the device’s pads into a QWERTY keyboard, both of which are illustrated in introductory videos shared by the brand.

In a video on looping, Synsthrom reveals that Deluge’s loops can “be of any length and independent lengths of each other”. The loops can also be modified via Deluge’s existing samples and built-in effects. Additionally, Deluge 3.0 has USB-MIDI host functionality, meaning you can add MIDI controllers to the unit.

Another new feature to come with 3.0 is the QWERTY keyboard. This feature, illustrated in a separate video, turns Deluge’s pads into a QWERTY keyboard, enabling you to key in text. There are various possibilities for this feature, the most prominent being the ability to give meaningful names to your presets, as the video demonstrates.

Firmware 3.0 will be available from mid-2019 as a free update for existing users. The Synthstrom Audible Deluge costs $899. More info at synthstrom.com.
