Superbooth 2019: zMors lets you build a modular synth rig in iOS
If you don’t fancy having dozens of hardware modules on your desk, this iPad app may be your best alternative to a full-fledged modular synth rig.
Modular synth rigs call to mind tangles of cables, dozens of hardware modules and hundreds of arcane knobs. But what if you could build a modular rig on your iPad? Well, there’s an app for that: the zMors Modular.
zMors Modular launched a few years ago, but the company was down at Superbooth at Berlin to show us how to build patches on the app, which you can check out in the video above.
Specs-wise, Modular boasts dozens of modules from oscillators and wavetables to ADSR envelope generators and step sequencers. It can even send or receive up to eight audio/CV signals via USB, and it’s also MIDI compatible.
The zMors Modular is on the App Store for $9.99.
