One of the highlights of Boss’ Summer NAMM 2019 offerings is the SY-1, which packs 121 synth sounds in a compact pedal aimed at guitars and basses.

These 121 sounds are made up of 11 synth types with 11 variations each. Tones range from throwback analogue sounds to leads to organs to basses and more. You’ll also be able to tap onto arpeggiated sequences for some really interesting creations.

When it comes to controls, the SY-1 is governed by a tone/rate and depth knob as well as a blend control which dictates the mix of your guitar/bass tone with the synth.

Another highlight of the SY-1 is its routing flexibility. With send/return loop, you can integrate other effects with this stomper to layer your synth sound. Alternatively, you can use the send as a direct out to a separate amp.

And in case you’re wondering, the SY-1 does not require any other hardware on your guitar. Just hook up your guitar or bass, dial in your synth selection and get creating.

The Boss SY-1 pedal will cost $199. More info at boss.info. Get all the news from Summer NAMM 2019 here.
