Summer NAMM 2019: Eventide unveils Harmadillo H9 tremolo algorithm
The H9 Harmonizer gets its 51st effect.
Alongside its new iOS plug-in offerings, Eventide has unveiled the H9 Harmonizer’s 51st effect, Harmadillo, at Summer NAMM 2019. This addition is a harmonic tremolo algorithm that you can use with your synths, guitar or bass. It offers everything from soft, lush tremolos to mind-altering weirdness.
According to Eventide, Harmadillo is inspired by classic tube-amplifier harmonic tremolo circuits and analog harmonic tremolo pedals. It arms you with a range of LFO types, including traditional sine, triangle, and pulse shapes through to modern ramp, Lump and Rump.
The Harmadillo also features three envelope follower controls that use picking and playing dynamics to alter the tremolo effect. Eventide provides the following examples as reference: “You can use the ENV Depth control to temporarily reduce the depth of the tremolo when you pick – this allows you to use deeper depth settings without having to worry about your attacks getting lost. As another example, you can use the ENV Freq control to create auto-wah or phaser effects controlled by your picking and playing dynamics.”
On top of these, you can use the drive control to add a little warmth to your sound, or the tone control to manage highs and lows.
The Harmadillo is free for H9 Max users or $19.99 for H9 and H9 Core users. It is available on iPad, iPhone, Mac/PC and Android.
