STP/Vestax Phoenix analogue DJ Mixer

Back in 2016, Japanese pro audio company Vestax announced its relaunch as STP/Vestax and unveiled a four-channel DJ mixer named Phoenix. The device is now finally on the market as the Hou-ou [PHOENIX], boasting a catalogue of premium features targeted at audiophile turntablists.

According to the revived brand, Hou-ou boasts a rich analogue sound born of the study of past production techniques, large toroidal transformers and advanced discrete circuitry.

Each of Hou-ou’s four channels has trim and pan controls plus a three-band equaliser. All channels also have a 60mm vertical fader, which is intended to offer “solid curve control”, according to the brand.

Complementing the four channels are three unbalanced stereo phono inputs and nine stereo line inputs. The unit is also kitted out with an independent mic channel, independent stereo AUX send-returns, record out and twin stereo XLR master outputs.

For metering, all channels have independent VU meters, while a master VU meter keeps tabs on the overall L-R mix.

Available at $10,000. More info at stpvestax.com.
