We may not all be able to get our hands on Solid State Logic’s elite-grade mixing consoles, but with the introduction of the SSL Native Essentials Bundle, we may still be able to get a slice of the action. The Oxford-based audio manufacturing expert has taken a useful duo from the Native Complete Bundle and rolled them out as the SSL Essentials Bundle.
Comprised of the Bus Compressor and ChannelStrip plug-ins, the bundle is available as a monthly subscription of $5, which can be cancelled at any time. The duo is designed to provide “console grade processing for your DAW”, the brand says.
ChannelStrip is a 4-band EQ designed to deliver the tone and features of a genuine SSL console channel strip. It features parametric low-mid frequency and high-mid frequency controls and shelving on the low-frequency and high-frequency sections.
Bus Compressor is an emulation of the SSL 1980 G series analogue console’s compressor, which the brand says “ is the secret behind countless classic recordings”. The plug-in is simple to use and has a simple purpose – to make complete mixes sound bigger, with “more power, punch and drive” according to SSL.
The SSL Native Essentials plug-in bundle is compatible with AAX, AU, VST, & VST3, and does not need an iLok device to function.
