Sonarworks has launched the latest edition of its Reference monitor calibration software, which lets you calibrate your speakers and headphones for more accurate monitoring.

This version adds Custom Targets, which the brand said is one of the features that users have requested for the most. With this, you’ll be able to make custom adjustments to EQ in real-time, as well as set the specific frequency range to calibrate.

Translation Check is another new feature in the update. Taking into account the way audiences listen to audio on different devices – from earphones to sound bars to car stereos – Translation Check simulates 20 environments so you can gauge how your mix will sound in different situations.

SoundID Reference also sports a refreshed UI, this time completely resizable. And for Windows users, it launches with drivers that help it run at “near-zero latency”, according to the brand.

There are two editions of SoundID Reference available. The $99 edition only calibrates headphones, while the $249 edition will calibrate both headphones and speakers.

There’s also a bundle which packages the software together with a measurement microphone and a pair of Sennheiser HD 650 headphones for $699.
