Softube patches in 11 new modules to its Modular plug-in
The officially licensed Eurorack platform introduces modules derives from Statement Lead, Monoment Bass and Parallels.
Developed in collaboration with Doepfer, Softube Modular is touted as a Eurorack environment for your DAW. The Swedish software developer has now added a further 11 modules to the platform, each derived from three of its newer soft synths: Parallels, Monoment and Statement Lead.
The new modules are included alongside purchases of the full plug-ins and are now available for those who already own the synths. With Softube Modular, you’re now able to patch and tweak these synths in new ways. Combine them with any other module in the platform – including the modules created in collaboration with Doepfer, Mutable Instruments, 4ms, Intellijel, Buchla and Vermona – and recreate the original synths or build an entirely new instrument. As Softube rightly puts it, “the only limit is your imagination”.
The newest synth of the three, Statement Lead, gets broken down into three modules. You’ll have access to the Source, essentially an oscillator section with unison modes; Filter, which also sports a sequencer; and FX, which can be tempo-synced.
Monoment Bass gets split into three modules, too, following the same set as Statement Lead with Source, Filter and FX. You’ll want to hit your low end with these modules, with sonic possibilities that go far beyond the original bass synth.
Parallels, the dual-source synth boasting 100 different waveforms, gets split into five modules for Softube Modular. This includes Source, Shape, Mod, Env and FX. All are rather self-explanatory but can help create powerful modular beasts with unique sounds.
Softube Modular is currently priced at €65. Monoment Bass sits at €75, Statement Lead at €89 and Parallels at €99. Find out more at softube.com
