Roland has recently updated its music creation app Zenbeats, now revealing the new and improved 3.0 edition. Compiling a surplus of tools for creating music, the latest version of the app allows users to create music anywhere and at any time – all within a mobile-friendly format.

Providing a vast array of curated tools, the app caters to those looking for a way to create music of all styles and sounds. With this new update, the company boasts that it allows users to maintain “an effortless artistic flow” when using the app.

New features included in the latest version include the ZR1 Drum Sampler, which comes featuring classic drum tones from the TR-808 and TR-909. Here, sampling and importing directly into the ZR1’s drum pads is easier than ever, with advanced editing functionality accessible with just the touch of a finger.

Also part of the ZR1 Drum Sampler is a nuanced step sequencer that comes complete with accents, per-step automation and more for creating complex rhythms.

Other features of the Zenbeats 3.0 update include the enhanced UI/UX function that allows for improved browsing. From this, creators can not only capture the precise sound they’re looking for, but also tag and filter these sounds with a single tap.

Group track options and new sounds, loops and creative tools are also a new edition, all of which are uploaded weekly via the Zenbeats Store.

Available in either a free edition or with prices starting from $3 per month, Roland states that the latest upgrade to Zenbeats makes it “easier than ever” for musicians to “drop a beat, sketch synth ideas, record audio tracks, and mix musical masterpieces on the go.”

The app comes with four different payment options. The first of which is a free edition – providing the music production essentials and offering additional loops and presets which can be purchased in the Zenbeats store.

Once ready to upgrade, users have the choice of two one-time-purchase bundles. The more affordable of which comes Platform Unlock which starts from $15. This edition incorporates all features, instruments, and effects on one platform, over 2,500 presets, loops and sounds as well as much more.

Meanwhile, the higher-end Max Unlock payment plan provides these features across numerous devices, delivers over 8GB of data (the equivalent of 14,000 presets, loops and sounds), as well as much more. This version is available now for $150.

Finally, users can also access the same benefits as seen with the Max Unlock by subscribing to a Roland Cloud Membership, with prices starting from $3 per month or $30 annually.
