Rob Papen steps back in time with B.I.T. synth plug-in
Stroll down memory lane with classic analogue-modelled synthesis.

Fresh from Rob Papen’s catalogue is B.I.T., a synth plug-in inspired by analogue synthesis.
Up until now, synth guru Papen has focused mostly on softsynths that combine analogue modelling with hybrid synthesis. With no spectrum waveforms or samples, the B.I.T. – short for Back In Time – represents a change of direction: it’s simply a two-oscillator synth founded purely on analogue modelled synthesis.
The B.I.T.’s modulation is handled by a matrix, which is responsible for patching various connections within the plug-in. A key component of the matrix is a smart ‘advanced’ panel – situated below the two oscillators – that lets you access LFO and envelope controls. There’s also the ability to modulate oscillator 1 from 2, for creating phase, frequency and ring modulation.
The synth’s modulation features are complemented by a 16-step arpeggiator and a range of effects including chorus, flanger, phaser, delay and reverb.
