British audio manufacturer Rega has announced a limited edition turntable in celebration of 15 years of Record Store Day.

This year’s RSD will take place on 23 April, and as RSD’s long-time collaborator, Rega have pulled out all the stops this time to offer a truly unique player for 2022.

Based on the award-winning Rega Planar 1, the RSD22 turntable is customised with an exclusive Record Store Day mat, lid badge and silkscreen logo. The deck features a high specification low noise 24v motor, handmade RB110 precision tonearm, and a factory fitted Rega Carbon cartridge. Each turntable is also supplied with Rega’s lifetime warranty for total peace of mind.

To spice things up, 50 of these 500 limited edition turntables will include a ticket which will entitle the lucky holder to a special artist-signed book.

Rega spokesperson Simon Webster said,“this is our 9th year as audio and turntable sponsors of RSDUK and we have seen this fantastic event continue to grow and evolve year on year. We are always delighted to play our small part in supporting the independent record stores and we are excited to bring back the RSD special edition turntable to celebrate the 15th anniversary.”

Made by hand in the UK, the RSD 15th Anniversary Planar 1 will retail for £299 and will only be available in store on the day, so be sure to head down to your local participating record store or Rega dealer early if you fancy adding one to your collection.

As part of Record Store Day 2022, Rega is also working with charity organisation War Child UK to support the unfolding crisis in Ukraine, as well as places like Afghanistan and Yemen. Stand a chance to win a limited edition RSD22 turntable signed by Sam Fender when you donate £5.
