Novation has introduced the Circuit Rhythm, a groovebox that puts a focus on quick sampling and sequencing.

Circuit Rhythm has a screenless workflow, offering eight sample tracks with a 32-step step pattern sequencer each. There’s also quantisation, probability and mutate features; built-in recording capabilities, and built-in effects available onboard.

According to Novation, sampling and sequencing takes centre stage on the Circuit Rhythm and the groovebox was designed with the focus on letting users “capture creative ideas quickly and stay inspired.”

“[You can] record straight into Circuit Rhythm through the audio inputs, and instantly capture sound from records, synths, or even a phone,” Novation said.

“Whether playing in drums, making basslines or chopping straight from vinyl, music-makers can play back samples however they want and listen through stereo out or with headphones.”

Completing the groovebox are performance-based effects that include beat repeat, vinyl simulation and much more. I/O includes five-pin DIN MIDI in, out and thru, analogue sync out and monitoring via line outputs and a dedicated headphone out.

Other hardware features include a rechargeable battery, microSD card slot for loading your samples and a rugged enclosure.

The Circuit Rhythm will be available in mid-July with a price tag of US$460.
