Native Instruments has launched Butch Vig Drums, a Kontakt library with heavily processed drum sounds ready to be deployed in your productions. Samples feature recorded drums, processed by the seminal rock producer in his own GrungeIsDead home studio.
Drum sounds were recorded at the iconic Studio A of United Recording in Hollywood using what Native Instruments describe as a mixture of “old school studio techniques and new school tweaking”.
Vig puts his spin on the recorded drums by employing a combination of analogue and digital preamps, compressors, guitar effects, and more. The musical sounding samples sit on the more dramatic side, and could be great to noodle with when fishing for ideas.
Butch Vig Drums gives you 21 different drum kits to play with, each with 16 one-shots, and 16 preset MIDI patterns. Take a listen to the library in action below:
Butch Vig Drums comes at an introductory price of $49 (usually $69) until 1 October, 2020.
