Just before Christmas, Behringer’s parent company Music Tribe took to YouTube to preview an online music marketplace, with a video simply titled “Buy and Sell. For Free. Soon”. This was recently followed by a more in-depth video titled “The Perfect Place to Sell Your Musical Gear”, with clips of a variety of audio gear that you will be able to sell on this new marketplace. Now, Free Music Tribe has arrived, promising a marketplace that is committed to offering “the most amazing place for you to buy and sell your gear”.

“Buy and sell. For free.” It’s finally here – the place where you can buy gear and sell. All for free….

The marketplace could prove to be a direct competitor to Reverb.com and eBay, with apparently no fees for posting and selling your items on the platform. Although certainly an interesting move from Music Tribe, it feels like a part of Uli Behringer’s wider ethos of putting the customer first and appealing to the customer’s desires.
