Moog’s Sound Studio packages “everything you need” to dip your toes into analogue synthesis
It includes two analogue synths, plus cables, accessories, educational tools and more.
Moog has announced an analogue synth package that includes “everything you need” to assemble your own semi-modular system.
The Moog Sound Studio comes in two combinations: Mother-32 and DFAM, or Subharmonicon and DFAM. It also includes accessories and educational tools to learn the process of working with analogue synthesis.
The Mother-32 combines Moog’s analogue heritage with modern sequencing and MIDI control. On top of delivering classic Moog sounds – via vintage-style oscillators and the brand’s signature ladder filter – there’s also a step sequencer with 64 memory slots, a 32-point patch bay and 13-button keyboard.
DFAM – short for “Drummer From Another Mother” – brings drum synthesis into the mix, with dual-oscillators and analogue filters to shape your sound. It also offers a flexible 8-step sequencer and a patch bay to integrate with the other synths – or other devices in your Eurorack rig.
Finally, the Subharmonicon is an analogue synth with polyrhythmic tendencies, employing a 6-tone sound engine and multi-layered clock generator that dives into subharmonic frequency generation.
Patch cables are included in each package, as is a cable organiser, power distribution hub, two-tier rack mount kit and an audio mixer. Educational materials, meanwhile, include guided exercises, a patch book and more.

The iconic brand has also dropped a seven-song EP to promote the launch of its new synth package, tapping Bonobo, Peter CottonTale, Julianna Barwick and more for contributions. Explorations In Analog Synthesis features songs “built around the instruments and accessories included” in the Sound Studio package.
