NAMM 2021: Moog’s Model 15 synth app comes to desktop on macOS Big Sur
Award-winning modular synth app is Moog’s first desktop soft synth.

Moog Model 15 desktop app
NAMM 2021: Moog has updated its excellent Model 15 modular iOS synth app to work on macOS Big Sur. The fantastic sounding synth is free to owners of the iOS version and the desktop version will work on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
Based on the enormous modular synth from the 1970s, the Model 15 app is made for experimentation and this new update allows it to be used standalone or as an Audio Unit v3 plug-in within Logic, Garageband or Mainstage.
The desktop version, like its iOS sibling, faithfully recreates every facet of the original Model 15, including legendary Moog 921 series oscillators, 904A low-pass filter and the revered 907 fixed filter bank. It can also be used in monophonic or four-voice modes.
Although it might seem overwhelming at first glance, Model 15 now comes with an additional 80 patches spanning leads, percussion and pads to get you started.
And, if you want to dig deeper into the world of modular synthesis, there are seven brand new tutorials included to encourage modular exploration.
Moog Model 15 is available on Mac and iOS App Stores for £29.
