The sixth iteration of Loopcloud is here and it includes AI-powered search features to help producers scour the service’s four million samples in less time.
The AI-powered search features include harmonic and rhythmic sound matching, as well as automatic tagging for user content. The former curates a list of samples – out of your library and the service’s own – that would pair well with one you’ve selected.
Meanwhile, AI-tagging automatically analyses audio in your own library and assigns them tags to help you search for them when inspiration strikes.
You can also search by Audio Filters, which are slider parameters – tone, length, BPM, swing, attack, decay, and more – that narrow down a search list of potential sounds.
Three new effects have been added to the service: EQ, Tonebox and a compressor letting you get more use out of each sample. Furthermore, Loopcloud 6 includes new export options and a Dark Mode that should be easy on the eyes during late-night sessions.

Like previous versions, Loopcloud 6 runs inside your DAW, making it easy to drag samples from its libraries onto your track. The service first launched in 2017 and includes samples curated by the “very best Artists, DJs and Musicians over a 20-year period,” according to its website.
The update is the brand’s first since being acquired by Beatport in December 2020. Beatport acquired Loopmasters, Plugin Boutique and Loopcloud, which was said to be a “logical conclusion” for all brands after a long partnership. Robb McDaniels, CEO of Beatport said: “The phenomenal growth of Plugin Boutique and the recent launch of Loopcloud is a testament to the talent of their team, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the Beatport family”.
Loopcloud subscriptions are available now at £6/$8/€7 per month.
