Swedish music technology company Isovox has announced the Isomic, a microphone tailored for high-fidelity vocal recording and optimised to work with its Isovox 2 vocal booth.
At the heart of the Isomic is a specially designed triangular capsule, which the brand says offers a much quicker “recovery movement” than a circular capsule’s. This supposedly lends to an increase in recording detail, per Isovox, and also the ability to capture a source from on- or off-axis.
The Isomic also boasts an ultra-wide frequency response, spanning 7Hz to 87kHz. The microphone also offers two “pop-removal zones” which essentially combine an external pop filter with an in-built filter.
The microphone is designed to work with the Isovox 2, an over-the-head vocal isolation booth meant for home studios. Check out a demo of the Isomic working with Isovox 2 below.
The Isomic is priced at €1,299, available directly at isovoxbooth.com
