HeadRush, which you may know from its popular products like Gigboard and Pedalboard, has now released Looperboard. This is a feature-packed floorboard looper with a seven-inch display, eight hours of recording time and extensive looping controls, among other highlights.

Here are the looper’s main features:

Recording time

As a standalone device, the Looperboard provides up to eight hours of internal recording time. You can, however, expand storage through these rear options: an SD slot, two USB-A drive inputs, a USB-B point to connect to a Mac/PC. The Looperboard also comes loaded with 300 drum and percussion loops on its internal storage for you to kickstart your creations.

User Interface

Another of Looperboard’s standout features is a seven-inch, high-resolution touch display. Touted as the first for a floorboard looper, it enables you to edit loops on-the-fly through taps, swipes and drag-and-drop.

Looperboard’s UI also features 12 built-in footswitches with individual RGB LEDs that provide dynamic feedback, handy for dark stages.

These switches perform a host of looping functions, including record, overdub, reverse, transpose, bounce, undo/redo, peel, fade and clear loops. They’re also capable of more complex procedures, letting you “reverse, fade, multiply/divide length and speed up the whole loop at once”, according to HeadRush.

Another neat UI feature on the Looperboard is the ability to integrate loops with your existing workflow. This is achieved by running each loop’s four mono/stereo looper tracks through any of the device’s five track modes: Fixed, Serial, Sync, Serial/Sync and Free.

Built-in effects and time-stretch

Besides its touted looping proficiency, the Looperboard also boasts a suite of built-in effects. These span guitars, vocals and percussion, and can be added to both inputs or looper tracks.

Adding to the FX library is an intelligent time-stretch feature, which lets you change a loop’s tempo while still retaining accurate pitch and audio quality, as the brand claims.

Pro audio I/O

  • Two XLR outputs with switchable ground-lift
  • Two 1/4” outputs, switchable between amp or line level
  • A 1/4” stereo headphone output with dedicated volume knob
  • A 1/8” stereo aux input
