Focal has pulled the curtains back on their new flagship audio monitors, the Trio11 Be.

The highlights of the French company’s new high-end product are a five-inch midrange, a 10-inch subwoofer, and Focal’s signature pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter.

Reduced distortion

“More power and less noise”—that was Focal’s motto for the Trio11 Be. To accomplish that, they employed Tuned Mass Damper technology around the five-inch driver to increase control and cut distortion, as well as Neutral Inductance Circuit tech to stabilise magnetic flux. Optimised vents also promote dynamic control and get bass definition as close to perfect as possible.

Good for nearfield and midfield

The Trio11 Be’s three-way monitor and two-way monitor setup makes it easier than ever to check the sound quality of your mix with the help of Focal’s remote-controlled Focus mode that you can activate with a foot pedal.

The product’s midrange and subwoofer have Class G amplification, which means a high SPL (118 dB at 1 metre) and increased versatility when it comes to nearfield usage and installation configurations, as well as midfield use. It’s also worth noting the monitor’s extended bandwidth of 30Hz to 40kHz.

Top-rate tweeter

It’s a no-brainer that Focal’s new flagship would have the brand’s signature pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter. The tweeter promises a detailed reproduction of the treble, while its “exclusive profile” optimises energy transfer from the coil to the dome. That means the tweeter can cover five octaves from 1,000 to 40,000Hz, while ensuring the sound is widely dispersed. And thanks to its ‘W’ sandwich cone, the 10-inch subwoofer optimises the linear frequency response by precisely controlling rigidity, lightness and damping.
