Flock Audio’s Patch LT is a fully analogue patch bay controlled with your computer, meaning no patch cables and labelling of physical I/Os required. On top of that, the router also plays host to some handy workflow and troubleshooting talents.

The Patch LT offers 32 digitally controlled patch points (16 ins and 16 outs) – half the I/O capabilities of the brand’s flagship Patch System.

Save for plugging in cables and powering up the unit, all of Patch LT’s functions are carried out on its companion software, Flock Patch App. This is the digital interface where you’ll find your active signal paths, stored preset routings and an index of the hardware you have hooked up.

Custom presets could save you a lot of time if you find yourself running a few types of different sessions on the regular. For example, you could set up a chain dedicated to ADR mixing, another for drum tracking and one for mastering.

Studios shared by more than one engineer could also benefit from presets as it should help save time on switchovers – particularly so if there’s an analogue board involved.

Multing is also easy to perform with a simple click on a directional arrow on the routing matrix. For some, this could present a much more concise way to route equipment as opposed to running cables on a traditional patch bay.

As for physical connectivity, the rear of the unit houses four DB25 slots, plus a combi input and combi output on the front panel for making quick patches. There’s also built-in phantom power available for all 16 channels.
