Chow Matrix lets you create intricate webs of delays for some pretty wild results. The latest plug-in to arrive from Chowdhury DSP is available to download for free via the developer’s github page.

Chow Matrix starts off simple enough – on the X/Y interface, you’ll find two audio nodes representing your left and right channels. Linking these to a delay node runs them through an adjustable delay effect. Chain enough of these together and you’ll soon find your signal jumping from delay to delay, to hypnotic effect.

These delay webs can be formed out of a combination of serial and parallel connections; the more delay nodes in a web, the more complex the overall effect. Then there’s the Insanity slider, which can be dialled up to add modulation to each delay. Insanity comes in four flavours: rough, glitch, smooth and ultra-smooth.

This is probably an effect you’ll want to hear in action for yourself. Watch producer and YouTuber SumnSumnSumn demonstrate the Chow Matrix below:

Chow Matrix comes in VST, VST3, AU and standalone formats and is free to download now. Try it out for yourself here.
