Voltage Modular Nucleus

Another music technology brand has chimed in with an electronic instrument giveaway, following the likes of Moog, Korg and Native Instruments. Stepping into the modular world, Cherry Audio is offering out Voltage Modular Nucleus for Mac and PC, free of charge.

Available “immediately and for the foreseeable future”, Cherry Audio states, the modular synth software is packed with 22 modules and over 130 presets. Modular synthesis is an expansive world that synth nerds happily lose themselves in, creating gnarly sounds and sequences.

To have Voltage Modular Nucleus available for free should keep you busy for some time and help get to grips with modular. You can patch up oscillators, filters, ring modulators, step sequencers and more.

The decision from Cherry Audio comes amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, with the company’s statement reading:

“Dear Synthesists,

We’ve all been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, and, like you, we’re all staying at home and making sure our families and loved ones are safe. We want to do our part to help.

Starting immediately, and for the foreseeable future, we’re making Voltage Modular Nucleus FREE for everybody. It’s a complete modular synthesis package, with 22 modules and over 130 presets, for OSX and Windows.

Stay home, stay safe, make some music, and learn to master modular synthesis. We’ll all get through this together.
