Behringer has officially launched its 2600 rack synth – just in time for the holiday season.

The hotly-anticipated analogue rack synth was first announced back in January, roughly a week after Korg unveiled its own reissue of the revered ARP 2600. At $599 however, it certainly looks to be the cheapest way to get your hands on a hardware version of the 2600 synth right now.

Needless to say, Behringer has touted the authenticity of the 2600’s features and circuit design. The synth offers 83 patch points and three VCOs with FM inputs among other analogue-based features – VCF, LFO and VCA – that promise “ultra-flexible” sound shaping capabilities after the original.

For a better idea of what it sounds like, Behringer shared a 20-minute demonstration of the 2600 back in February, which you can see below:

Last month (20 October), the brand also took to Facebook to tell customers to expect “large back orders” with its newly launched synth. Music-makers looking to pick one of these up had better lock their orders in early.

We’re proud to announce that we have managed to offer the 2600 synthesizer for US$ 599.We’re now expecting large back…
