Beatport has announced the launch of Beatport Sounds – a sample pack label that will drop exclusive artist samples on a monthly basis.

The label will release exclusive samples made by dance music artists such as Steve Lawler, object blue and Marshall Jefferson on a monthly basis.

Alongside offering artist-provided packs, Beatport Sounds will publish a series of “dedicated genre packs” that represent the most popular genres on the Beatport site, says Beatport.

The Artist Series sample packs each have their own concept that reflects each artist’s individual sound. UMEK’s Techno Fundamentals pack, for example, provides classic hats, snares and kicks. object blue’s Off Kilter Techno sample pack provides stranger, less recognizable sounds. Finally, Anastasia Kristensen’s Future Retro Techno pack features samples made using classic hardware, processed – with encouragement to be applied – in a modern way.

Beatport Sounds sample packs are available only on Loopmasters’ Loopcloud software application and website. On there, subscribers can search through 20 years worth of samples and sync them with their DAW in real-time.

In 2021, the Loopcloud 6 upgrade added new AI search tools to its app. MusicTech gave the software a review, in which we said: “[Loopclouds 6] extends the basic name or tag-based approach and allows you to look for harmonic matches, rhythmic matches’ or similar sounds (courtesy of music AI specialists Jamahook). This is a very effective way of hunting down loops that might work together but originate from different genres. You can even include your own sample collection in the searches.”

To be able to download Beatport Sound sample packs, you will need a Loopcloud subscription, which comes at $7.99 per month. Find out more here.
