Audio-Technica has released a new look for its popular AT-LPW30 turntable in time for Vinyl Week, featuring a modern black wood finish.
First released in 2019 as a fully manual belt-driven turntable, the new AT-LPW30BK boasts a high-density wood-based plith on top of a medium-density fiberboard (MDF) to minimise feedback generated from low-frequency acoustics.
The turntable features a die-cast aluminium platter with a durable rubber mat and a straight tonearm also in aluminium finish.
This includes a hydraulically dampened lift control with lockable rest that goes towards supporting the AT-VM95C phono cartridge built with a dual moving magnet design for high-quality stereo separation.
The current phono cartridge can also be switched out for any of the brand’s VM95C Series cartridges, such as the AT-VMN95EBK and AT-VM95SH, depending on the particular acoustic environment you’re seeking.
The AT-LPW30BK is able to play at a speed of 33-1/3 and 45 RPM. Notably, it also contains a built-in switchable pre-amplifier, meaning it can be plugged to speakers for a more immersive listening experience.
In other Audio Technica news, the brand recently released a pair of wireless earbuds that not only offer a powerful bass sound, but also promises a 20-hour long battery life or 15 hours of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) before it needs to be charged.
You can purchase the AT-LPW30BK turntable in black for £259 / $299 / €339.
