Japan-based tech company Audio-Technica has recently unveiled the latest edition to its expansive range of headphones: the over-ear wireless M20xBT edition. Inspired by the brand’s previous M Series headphones, the new model boasts top-grade sound on the go.

Available now, the company states that, with its newest addition to its range of headphones, it aims to deliver a precise, natural sound that combines studio-quality audio with the ease and comfort of a wireless design.

The latest design and sound quality are based on the M20x studio headphones, according to Audio-Technica, making both models the more affordable counterpart to the highly-acclaimed M50x model.

Featuring 40mm drivers with copper-clad aluminium wire voice coils, the headphones come tuned for low-frequency performance delivered to a high standard. In addition, the M20xBT come with a low-latency mode, ideal for users interested in live-streaming and gaming and with multipoint pairing, allowing for connection to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

With up to 60 hours of playback on a full charge, the company seem to have prioritised convenience when designing this latest model. For instance, the M20xBT come bearing a USB-C charging connection which supports a 10-minute fast charging mode and physical buttons embedded on the left ear cup to make it easy for users to control calls and music playback when using the headphones.

While active noise cancellation is not overtly included on the spec sheet, Audio-Technica assures users that their over-ear design still prioritises the isolation of external noise, saying that the mere design prevents external noise from interrupting the listening experience.

For those who would rather not use Bluetooth exclusively, the M20xBT also ships with a 1.2m audio cable, giving users the option to listen to music both wirelessly or directly connected to their preferred device.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M20xBT are available now for £80.
