Audio Technica’s ATH-SQ1TW has been available in Japan and other Asian regions since late 2020, but the very affordable true wireless earbuds are now being made in more territories around the world.

Currently listed to retail at £58, the ATH-SQ1TW features built-in touch sensor controls that allow users to play or pause music, skip between tracks, answer calls, and adjust the volume. The earbuds also boast an exclusive Audio Technica 5.8mm driver, though they understandably do not offer active noise cancellation. Users can opt to use single-ear mode or let in ambient sound with the hear-through function, however.

The earbuds also sport a Sidetone function, which allows users to hear their own voice as well as environmental sounds, while boasting a low latency for those who want to use them for watching videos or playing games.

The ATH-SQ1TW supports 6.5 hours of continuous playback, with another 13 hours of battery life on standby in the charging case. A 15-minute quick charge will yield about an hour of continuous playback, and for those who intend to use them for an active lifestyle will be glad to know the earbuds are water and splash-proof with a IPX4 rating.

Interested buyers can opt for one of 6 different colourways, which are licorice/black, popcorn white, blueberry, caramel, popsicle and cupcake pink/brown. Orders can be placed on Audio Technica’s website and other retailers.
