Anker Innovations’ new audio glasses, the Soundcore Frames, boast an immersive listening experience and switchable frame styles.

The Soundcore Frames feature the brand’s patented OpenSurround system for a more immersive experience. According to Anker, the two speakers on each side – a main one in front of the user’s ear and another behind the ear – help to amplify the stereo sound.

Design wise, the Soundcore Frames are highly customisable with its detachable front frame that allows you to mix and match from a wide range of styles. Up to 10 different frame styles are available, including prescription, polarised and blue-light filtering lenses. Users who have trouble deciding can head to the Soundcore app or website to virtually ‘try-on’ the various styles before ordering.

Much like Apple’s Earpods, the Soundcore Frames feature on-ear wearing detection and will automatically pause audio when the glasses are removed. It also comes with a private listening mode that can help reduce audio leakage when on a call, which will prove useful in public spaces.

The Soundcore Frames also include Bluetooth 5.2 with AAC support, an IPX4 rating for extra weather protection, a noise reducing mic and customisable touch and voice controls.

As for battery life, the Soundcore Frames offer up to 5.5 hours of playback when fully charged. And in the case of emergencies, users can fast charge an additional 1.5 hours of playback with a 10-minute charge.

Anker’s Soundcore Frames will be available in early to mid-November on Soundcore’s website, at £149.99/ €179.99/ $199.99. Additional frame models will be available in the coming weeks at a price of £49.99/ €49.99/ $49.99 each.
