Superbooth 2019: Analogue Solutions’ Impulse Command synth recalls vintage 70s designs
Featuring analogue modulation and stereo digital effects.
Analogue Solutions has debuted the Impulse Command, a semi-modular synthesizer that’s inspired by 1970s designs. Built around an analogue circuit path and stereo functionality, this device is capable of heavy bass, synth leads and percussion. It also sports built-in digital effects.
At the heart of the synthesizer are all-analogue audio and modulation circuits which do not require quantisation or CPU processing. The only digital elements you’ll find onboard the Impulse Command are the essentials, like MIDI conversion, sequencer control and digital delay/reverb effects.
Another highlight is the device’s semi-modular interface, which lets you re-patch the synth however you like. You’ll find a host of onboard controls to modify the instrument’s signal path, creating unique and strange sounds. The synth also comes with two 24dB low-pass filters (LPFs) and the capability of producing stereo loops that sound like “multiple synths playing at once”, according to Analogue Solutions.
Here are the rest of the Impulse Command’s features:
- Stereo/dual filters
- 16-step analogue sequencer
- 16-step MIDI Note sequencer
- Dynamic internal patch system
- ReOrder! feature to create new melodies from the sequencer
- Dynamic VCO mix levels
