ADAM Audio, Focusrite and Novation have joined forces to host a unique production contest – a Finger Drumming Competition. The competition was devised in collaboration with Instagram influences and drum curator, Jimmy (@beatsbyjblack).

The winner of the competition will receive a studio bundle worth over $1,500, comprised of a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4, a pair of ADAM Audio SP-5 Headphones and a Launchpad Pro MK3, plus a pair of ADAM Audio T8V Studio Monitors. The Launchpad Pro MK3 is Novation’s most advanced 64-pad MIDI controller yet, while Adam Audio’s T8V monitors are the latest addition to the brand’s esteemed T Series studio monitor range.

Producers and beatmakers can enter by downloading the free Beatsbyjblack sample pack, loading it into their favourite DAW or hardware sampler and creating a beat by finger drumming. All MIDI pads, MPC’s and keyboards with 16 pads are permitted in the competition.

The finger drumming performance must not be pre-recorded – it should be kept fun and in real-time. All sounds should come from the sound pack provided with no extra sounds permitted. Once the performance has been recorded, the video should be uploaded to any video streaming platform and submitted via the entry form.

The contest will end on June 26 when the winner will be announced.
