The MPE instrument master, Expressive E, has updated its Lié software to 1.5. Lié is the companion app for the brand’s Touché and Touché SE controllers and the new update includes the new Carbon sound expansion pack, along with a refreshed GUI and performance improvements.

Running as a plug-in or standalone app, and as a means to configure Touché for controlling hardware synths, Lié 1.5 is a free update, meaning Carbon is available for all users at no extra cost. The sound pack boasts 60 new expressive sounds that are powered by the UVI Falcon engine, running in UVI Workstation which is bundled with Lié. According to Expressive E, “Carbon’s deep pads, gnarly basses and colourful plucks are suited for all kinds of genres, expanding the number of factory sounds for Touché to now more than 250”.
