Overbridge 2 seamlessly integrates Elektron instruments with your computer
The free, long-awaited platform gets a full release, offering deep control of your sounds.
Elektron has announced the availability of Overbridge 2, which it says is designed to “make life easier for musicians”. The software suite is completely free and combines the power of Elektron hardware with the tools that can be beneficial in a software environment.
DAWbridge
Elektron Overbridge 2 presents your hardware on-screen as a plug-in for your DAW. This allows you to make changes in realtime to your instruments on-screen, with visualisations of samples, envelopes, LFOs and more. You can also automate these hardware parameters in your projects via the Overbridge plug-in from inside your DAW. As the software is VSTi and AU compatible, it can be used in most major DAWs.
If you feel like time away from your DAW, Overbridge 2 can be used as a standalone piece of software, which features built-in multitrack recording capabilities. You can then bounce these recordings out as WAV files and import them to your DAW if you so desire.
Elektron streams
You can affect digital computer audio with Elektron Analog hardware, or process individual track streams from an Overbridge device inside your DAW. Elektron Overbridge 2 lets you stream multi-channel audio directly through the plug-ins, or use your machine as an audio interface. Elektron’s MTT-enabled USB hub allows integration with multiple instruments simultaneously.
Elektron Overbridge 2 can also be used to manage presets, samples, kits and projects, and Total Recall can store your project and instrument settings for easy access later on in your DAW.
Overbridge works with the following Elektron products: Digitakt, Digitone, Digitone Keys, Analog Rytm MKI/MKII, Analog Four MKI/MKII, Analog Heat MKI/MKII, Analog Keys.
