Dolby Live at Park MGM is the world’s first venue of its nature to boast a complete Dolby Atmos setup, and is located on the Las Vegas Strip. According to Dolby, this is a “transformative music experience” that you’ll not be able to find anywhere else in the world, much like a lot of Vegas’ attractions.
The space has been kitted out with a fully integrated Dolby Atmos playback system which has been designed, calibrated and tuned by Dolby engineers to match the size and characteristics of the 5,200-seat theatre.
Although the high-spec system will be mostly used to enjoy live concerts, there could be potential for hosting musicals, eSports events and more.
“Dolby Live is a new immersive live music experience where the audience will feel like they are literally on stage with their favourite artist,” says Todd Pendleton, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Dolby Laboratories. “Dolby Atmos is at the centre of this new experience, which is transforming how music is created and enjoyed. There is no better way to enjoy live entertainment than in Dolby.”
Dolby Live at Park MGM follows an abundance of Dolby Atmos-related content in recent months. The format seems to be truly in full-swing, with Apple adopting the listening experience on Apple Music, along with countless artists releasing new music in Dolby Atmos. Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Jungle, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weeknd are among the artists who have adopted the format in their music.
