Denise audio perfect plate xl

This isn’t the first time that software developer denise audio has confidently used the word ‘perfect’ to describe a reverb. Perfect Room, released in 2019, may have lived up to its name, but can the same be said for the newly announced Perfect Plate?

Perfect Plate comes in a standard version and an XL version, the latter offering deeper control over the settings in the plug-in with an EQ graph and creative effects to make for an interesting plate. Both use the brand’s proprietary TXVerb technology found in Perfect Room, which is designed to reduce metallic resonances in the reverb.

Five aspects are featured to dictate the shape of your desired plate, with control over how quickly the plate vibrates with speed and steepness of the dampening curve; how long the plate vibrates with tail length; how long the plate takes to react to incoming signal with pre-delay time; how much space the plate occupies the stereo field with split and width; and a selection of creative effects that control character and movement. These aspects are defined by a variety of different parameters on the plug-in.

Just below the display screen is a set of five effects sliders: Resonator, Drive, Rotate, Detune and Ducker. Upon clicking each one of these sliders, a host of parameters will pop up, allowing you to fine-tune each effect.

Resonator lets you apply metallic imperfections for otherworldly effects, Detune will give let you experiment with the wow and flutter of the reverb tail, while Drive is a tape-like saturator, letting you create lo-fi and vintage reverbs. Rotate will create movement with host-synced vibrato, tremolo, filtering and panning effects, while Ducker is essentially a compressor with threshold, ratio, hold, attack and release.

Sporting the same design style as the rest of denise’ Essentials plug-ins, Perfect Plate will be easily accessible to anyone who is familiar with the range. This includes Bad Tape, God Mode and Perfect Room – the only difference now is that Perfect Plate has a resizable GUI.

Perfect Plate and Perfect Plate XL are both available on introductory offer, priced at €39 and the latter at €79, respectively. Both prices will bee moving up on 6 November to €49 and €99. They are available in AU, VST, VST3 and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.
