In tribute to Dr. Robert A. Moog, Cherry Audio has proclaimed May to be Bob Moog Appreciation Month. The month-long celebration will feature new products, content and discounts on some of the company’s most popular products.

To kick off Bob Moog Appreciation Month, Cherry Audio has unveiled the Minimode, a virtual emulation of the Minimoog, in homage to what the company acknowledge as “the best-known and loved analogue synthesizer ever made.”

Cherry Audio said, “In association with DSP master and frequent collaborator Mark Barton, we studied and measured every nuance, every curve, and every response of the audio. Minimode portrays the classic original’s pure, raw, powerful sound. The interface is a meticulous recreation of the original, from the maple cabinet and textured surface to the unmistakable knobs and switches.”

As is all but expected nowadays, the emulation expands the capabilities of the Minimoog into polyphonic territory. “The resulting monophonic tones are so mighty,” said Cherry Audio, “that we could not resist adding one particular enhancement: we’ve made it easy to dial in two, four, eight, or sixteen polyphonic voices, guaranteed to bring the house down.”

Throughout the month Cherry Audio will also be donating a portion of profits from the Minimode to the Bob Moog Foundation. The synth joins Cherry Audio’s line of Moog emulations; including the Memorymode, based upon the Memorymoog, the Polymode, based on the Polymoog, and the Surrealistic MG-1 Plus, a recreation of the Moog MG-1 synthesizer sold in Radio Shack stores in the 80s. The Memorymode and Polymode are available at a reduced cost for the month of May, while the Surrealistic MG-1 Plus is free.

The Minimode synthesizer is available now for Windows and macOS, in AU, VST, VST3, AAX and standalone formats. For more details, system requirements, a collection of sound examples, a free demo and information on other products, head to cherryaudio.com
