Behringer isn’t done with 2019 yet
Could the company be planning a 909 launch? We offer a theory.

With so many product launches in 2019 under its belts already, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Behringer couldn’t possibly have any surprises left.
Well, you’d also be wrong.
In a characteristically cryptic Facebook post, the company suggests there’s still more to come before we ring in the new year. Could it be that it’s finally launching a TR-909 clone to accompany the company’s versions of the TR-808 and TB-303?
Pop on your tinfoil hat and let’s see where this conspiracy theory goes. Ready? Ok.
It’s nearly 2020. That number must be important. Take 2020 and subtract 808 and 303, the names of the products already cloned by Behringer. What does that leave you? That’s right: 909. What further proof do you need? Our best guess is that this news will be dropped on New Year’s Eve, perhaps moments before the clocks strike midnight.
Continuing in the usual enigmatic fashion, Behringer posted this on its Facebook page, just a few hours after claiming it “isn’t done yet”. This has got synth fans in the comments section speculating whether they’ll be able to get their hands on a Behringer car. Now, we can’t absolutely dismiss those claims, but it seems far more likely something a little more music-related is in store for us.
After the year Behringer has had recreating classic analogue synths – the TB-303, SH-101, Pro-One, MS-20, the four-voice Model D – plus their new touchscreen mixer, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was something else entirely, too. Could it be that the UB-Xa has a launch date? Only time will tell…
