Beatport’s new Link and Cloud subscription services are a treat for DJs

Beatport Cloud’s ‘My Library’ sorting tool
Beatport has opened up its online catalogue to DJs with two new subscription services, Link and Cloud, launched in beta versions.
With Link, you’ll be able to stream tracks from Beatport into selected Pioneer DJ products. These include the WeDJ app, the soon-to-be-released rekordbox DJ as well as the DDJ-200, DDJ-WeGO4 and DDJ-WeGO3 controllers. When Link is officially paired up with rekordbox DJ in Q3 this year, the service is touted to grant access to curated playlists, audio with higher quality and, usefully, an Offline Performance mode.
Cloud, on the other hand, targets returning users. This service lets you re-download previously purchased items, preview tracks with a ‘needle drop’ function, and collate tracks via a ‘My Library’ sorting tool.
Beatport Link offers new users a 30-day trial, or you can start subscription with $14.99 a month. Beatport Cloud doesn’t have a free trial, with plans priced at $4.99 per month.
