Audius, the music sharing and streaming platform, has announced Collectibles, a new feature that allows artists and fans to showcase NFTs on their profile. Audius’ four million monthly users can then engage directly with these Collectibles, be they limited edition sales, concerts, albums, tickets, digital art or other forms of NFT.

“NFTs are not a passing fad”, Audius says of the release. “They are here to stay and are an exciting frontier within the digital music economy. They are a new, powerful tool for both artists and fans alike. They will be used to crowdfund concept albums and cross-artist collaborations, create limited album art, inserts, and experiential media, drop backstage passes to lucky super fans, and so much more”.

Collectibles are available for users with a Silver Tier Audius account – users holding more than 100 $AUDIO, which is obtained by uploading, curating and moderating tracks on the platform. Audius has been trialling Collectibles with a range of high-profile artists, including 3LAU, RAC, Disclosure, Dillon Francis, VERITE, Oshi, Matthew Chaim, Metsa, Camoufly, and PLS&TY.

Artists can add NFTs by linking a third-party wallet, using the ‘Connect Other Wallet’ field on the Audius Dashboard. Wallets such as Metamask, WalletConnect and more can be directly connected. To add an NFT to the Collectibles tab, users must leave a signature on the connected wallet as proof of ownership. Once the transaction is signed, all supported NFTs held in the wallet will be shown on the profile. It’s then possible to curate the NFTs available on the Collectibles tab.

Fans can also unlock Collectibles with Silver Tier accounts, too. Audius supports NFTs from SuperRare, Zora, Catalog, Foundation, OpenSea, Rarible, and KnownOrigin. Fans will be able to discover NFTs directly through their favourite artists’ profiles, rather than browsing through markets for new drops.

In celebration of the launch, Audius is giving the chance for users to win a limited edition Audius NFT. Any fan or artist that sets up their Collectibles page and connects at least one wallet holding a Collectible will be eligible.

“Collectibles are one of the best ways to personalize your profile and showcase your one-of-a-kind NFTs”, Audius says. “Showcase your latest Zora drop. Rock a CryptoPunk. Display an ENS name. Your Collectibles are yours.”
