This Month’s Audio Pro: Matt Jones

Taking your questions in this month’s Ask Abbey Road is Recordist Matt Jones.

Studying on the Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey, Matt joined Abbey Road straight after graduation in 2012. From orchestral film and video game soundtracks to artist sessions, Matt has enjoyed a diverse range of experience.

Recent projects include AeronautsHow To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and Our Planet, as well as Ed Sheeran, Nile Rodgers and our new BBC Introducing sessions recording and mixing DJ Target’s pick of unsigned talent.

In his role as Recordist, Matt works across Abbey Road’s portfolio of recording and mixing spaces, operating Pro Tools as well as engineering sessions, ensuring the effective set-up of the live and control rooms, working with clients to ensure all requirements are met. This spans projects with emerging talent through to A-list artists, orchestral, film and TV projects.

Want to know more about what Matt does? Some of his favourite tips and tricks? How he uses the gear? Or something else? Now’s your chance to ask.
