Analogue Solutions Leipzig V3

Analogue Solutions has brought its all-analogue Leipzig synth to V3. A new design introduces useful features but maintains the “wonderful, angry pure-analogue sounds” Leipzig is renowned for, the brand says.

The monophonic synthesizer now comes in desktop format, following suit with Analogue Solutions’ Impulse Command. New features in the Leipzig V3 also includes a headphone output, patch input and outputs, enhanced sequencing and more subtle tweaks and improvements.

Analogue Solutions says that the Leipzig V3 “captures the same raw, ballsy, complexly rich sound as its Leipzig predecessors” Listen to the demo below and be the judge of that yourself.

Leipzig V3 sports two VCOs with individual glide and a sub-VCO, feeding into a Moog-style Ladder filter. Oscillator sync and cross-modulation are possible, along with the option to overdrive the mixer and filter for gnarly, gritty sounds. An LFO and two envelopes are onboard for modulation, with an eight-step analogue CV sequencer to control the filter or oscillators.

A new digital 16-step note sequencer, inspired by the Impulse Command, can be used alongside the 8-step analogue sequencer. This lets you create melodies that can be transposed with your keyboard or DAW.

Analogue Solutions has a knack for creating powerful synths. Its £25,000 Colossus synth has recently been brought back for a fourth run and is arguably one of the most gargantuan synths of recent years.

Thankfully, Leipzig V3’s price tag isn’t as eye-watering as that of Colossus. It’s available to order now at a price of £849.
