Producers who work with iOS apps may be familiar with Ampify Groovebox, an affordable mobile music solution, and Ampify Sounds, an online catalogue of samples curated by artists. Enter Ampify Studio, a desktop platform that is designed to greatly enhance and speed up your workflow, with built-in access to Ampify Sounds for a sample-based approach to generating ideas. This is the first step into desktop software from the brand, which is a subsidiary of Focusrite. We found out more at NAMM in the video above.

Ampify Studio utilises a drag-and-drop approach to music-making, using Ampify Sounds as a primary resource. As you load in samples to your session, the master tempo can be adjusted to assign with the selected sound. The software is also designed to work seamlessly with Novation’s Launchpad Mini and Launchpad X, with the RGB pads reflecting what is present in the session window.

Ableton Live users can continue to work on their Ampify Studio session thanks to the Export To Live option. The software is being rolled out as a free beta version, with subscription services to eventually become available. The music-making program will be available from around April for both Mac and Windows.
