Learn how to speed up automation in this episode of Ableton Live Tutorials
Our next video in the Ableton Live Tutorials series explores how to record automation in realtime
We took a brief look at automation in our Ableton Live Tutorial last week, and this week we’re going a little deeper. Ableton Live sports a useful Automation Arm setting, which allows you to alter a parameter in realtime and have it reflected in the session file. This can be extremely useful if you want to quickly apply movement on a parameter whilst you’re recording and performing. Liam also shows you how MIDI controllers can be hooked up to perform more expressive alterations.
Other lessons in our Ableton Live Tutorials series so far include:
- Exploring the interface
- Arrangement and session view
- Choosing instrument sounds
- MIDI clip recording and editing
- MIDI clip programming
- Using Audio Clips
- Understanding Warp Modes
- Learn insert effects
- Introduction to the mixer
- Slicing audio clips to MIDI
