Learn how to use insert effects in Ableton Live with our latest tutorial
Liam O’Mullane is back for another episode of Ableton Live Tutorials.
Ableton Live Insert Effects
So far in our Ableton Live Tutorials series, we’ve covered the interface, MIDI clips, Audio editing, warp modes and more. This week Liam O’Mullane, MusicTech’s in-house Ableton Live expert, shows you how to make your music more interesting and professional with effects. He uses Live 10’s built-in channel effects to break down the basics of insert effects, revealing the terminology associated with delay, filter, reverb and more. Effects can be a great way to achieve a desired sound – but you don’t want to go overboard, and Liam gives you tips to stay on track and understand how signal paths can affect the overall sound.
Other lessons in our Ableton Live Tutorials series so far include:
- Exploring the interface
- Arrangement and session view
- Choosing instrument sounds
- MIDI clip recording and editing
- MIDI clip programming
