Last week we were treated to the availability of Logic Pro X as a 90-day trial in the wake of COVID-19. This week, its Ableton’s turn. Usually limited to 30 days, Ableton Live 10 Suite is now yours to try out for 90 days with all features unlocked for you to make music with, including exporting and saving.

If it’s your first time trying out Live 10, you can get up to speed with our video series, Ableton Live Tutorials. Once you’re caught up, explore our tutorials section on MusicTech.net for more nitty-gritty lessons on producing with the comprehensive DAW.

With Live 10 Suite, you’ll get full access to all of the 56 audio effects and MIDI effects, 13 instruments and Max for Live. The final of these features allows you to download and use instruments and effects created by fellow users and developers, offering practically unlimited potential for sonic experimentation.

You’ll also be able to use third-party plug-ins in VST and AU format. We have an entire section dedicated to freeware plug-ins and sounds for you to sink your teeth into in case you fancy drifting from Ableton’s stock effects. With COVID-19 safety measures keeping music makers hunkered down at home more than usual, a growing number of music tech companies have responded by offering up free versions and trials of their products which are included in this section.

Ableton Live Insert EffectsAbleton Live 10 has become the go-to DAW for many established producers, artists and DJs thanks to its combination of performance and arrangement workflows. Beardyman, Steve Aoki, Youngr, Hinako Omoro, LYRE and Cody Currie are just some of the producers we’ve recently spoken with that use Live 10 to get ideas down.

It’s not been announced when this trial period will revert back to the usual 30-day offering, but it’s probably a good idea to get your hands on the 90-day trial now while it’s available.
