Dubbed the ‘The Chiptunes of Yesteryear’, Puremagnetik tell us that the bundle contains samples from the Alpha Syntauri, Nintendo NES, Apple ][, Atari 2600 and more.

“Retro Computers +Plus for Ableton Live comes loaded with hundreds of multi-sample instruments with expressive mappings, all programmed with pre-assigned, Push-Ready Macro controls,” says a spokesperson at Puremagnetik. “It was designed with a custom KSP easy edit interfaces. It has been developed with filters, effects controls and modulations. Retro Computers +Plus for Logic includes a collection of instruments that install directly into your Logic library. All sounds have been pre-programmed with Logic’s Channel Strips allowing instant access to sound sculpting and performance features.”

Features

alphaSynth – a library of old-school computer sounds sourced from an 8-bit Apple ][ and Alpha Syntauri music system. Puremagnetik has captured the 8-bit charm of this early home computer music system and reprogrammed everything as an Ableton Live Pack, Kontakt & Logic Instruments.

Eight Bit – a comprehensive selection of 1980s SID chip samples. Recorded directly from an original 6581 SID chip (as manufactured in the Commodore 64 home computer), the Eight Bit library includes a unique palette of basses, leads and pads.

Blip – instantly transforms your computer into a lo-fi and gritty sound source that contains the full sonic palette from classic video games such as Pong and Space Invaders. It is a unique collection of instruments, kits and looped beats sourced from the original Atari 2600 sound chip.

PM-8910 – Captured entirely from an original General Instruments AY-3-8910 three-voice programmable sound generator, PM-8910 is packed full of goodies for old-school gaming and chip sound enthusiasts.

Punchpak – A collection of sounds created from the 8 bit sound chip on the classic Nintendo® (NES) gaming console. Puremagnetik sound designers have extracted this collection of blippy waveforms from the internal synthesizer of an NES and reprogrammed them as an Ableton Live Pack, Kontakt Instrument and Logic Library.
