Nirvana formed in 1987 and were a grunge/alternative rock band. They were signed to Geffen Records and had two key albums, Nevermind (1991) and In Utero (1993). Their last album was MTV Unplugged in New York (1994), and they won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance in 1996.
